Varun Aaron

Varun Aaron Biography
Indian Cricket Bowler Varun Aaron, One of the Fastest Bowlers of India.
The 21-year-old grew up in Jamshedpur and represents Jharkhand in domestic cricket. His claim to fame? In the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, in the final against Gujarat, Varun Aaron clocked 153.4 KMPH, making him the fastest Indian bowler on record.
Varun Aaron had been with Kolkata Knight Riders the previous season. A stress fracture of the back kept him out of action. He was fit for the last four games of the tournament, but didn’t get a break. With due apologies to Burt Munro, Delhi Daredevils, not he, can lay claim on the world’s fastest Indian now.
A lot of Indian pacers in recent times have made impressive beginnings, but then lost their edge quickly. Irfan Pathan bowled in the high 140s on his debut series in Australia. Munaf Patel was, at one time, touted to be the fastest in India. Zaheer Khan used to be much quicker, but has eschewed pace for control. The list goes on.
Varun Aaron, however says, he’s not about to give up on pace.
“Bowling quick is what I do best. I am not going to change my thinking because I will be bowling to international players in a Twenty20 match,” Varun Aaron told TOI recently, adding that “I can assure you that I’ll be the quickest Indian bowler in IPL if I get the chance to play.”
Varun Aaron has recovered from the stress fracture. He says he has made corrections to his bowling action. It used to be left-heavy — the reason for the fracture — but he is now running in straight.
His action is uncomplicated, smooth, and economical. Like Glenn McGrath, he has no exaggerated movement of limbs. He shuffles towards the bowling crease with his shoulders low, butt jutting out. There’s no pronounced leap at the crease, just a little pop. Varun Aaron remains straight-on, unlike lots of express-quick bowlers. It would seem Varun Aaron’s just another seamer running in to hurl a harmless delivery. But a really quick whip of the right arm and wrist follows, and the ball flies at speeds unheard of in Indian cricket.
25 wickets in 11 First Class games may not seem like much. But he’s done better in limited overs cricket. He has two fivers in 11 games in which he has taken 23 wickets. Varun Aaron has learnt things from Dennis Lillee at the Academy and Wasim Akram at the KKR.
The Academy’s former chief coach TA Sekhar is excited by Varun Aaron. “He should be groomed properly and the national selectors should keep an eye on him,” Varun Aaron said. Also, like most quick bowlers, Varun Aaron is a strongly-built boy capable of big-hitting, as he has shown in domestic cricket. His batting strike rate in 50-over cricket is 158.
On Sunday, Delhi Daredevils play the first game of the IPL against Mumbai Indians. Delhi is a team without many big-ticket players. KKR didn’t give Varun Aaron a break. But perhaps, it is time for the Daredevils to let the ‘Tatanagar Express’ loose.

Dhoni bashing is the order of this ungrateful nation. Least we forget the world cup is in India after n x n numbers of years. And in in between the years gone by between the two world cups none of the so called esteemed players/captains in their esteemed judgement could do anything to bring the world cup. So stop questioning the judgement capabilities of India’s finest captain ever. If all the cricket loving fans in India were half as good as our Ranji Players or India XI team they would be in some team or another and on the ground playing cricket and not sitting infront of their computers/laptops/tablets and passing judgement. So much talking and not capable of any action. Learn to be thankful for entertainment u get and stop passing judgement on Dhoni.

finally india have got a real FAST BOWLER because otherwise all are medium pacers only. Varun in his debut bowled fast , its nice to see , his yorkers are brilliant. india should waste his talent , drop the likes of pk & pick for future. Best of luck varun

Who will tell the selectors to search and nurture the fast bowlers like other countries? Pakistan has many fast bowlers because they pick the bowler at the right time and our selectors deliberatly keep the bowlers waiting and with in this time the bowlers loose their speed so that some of their players will get some more time in the team (politics). selection of players without killer instinct is a routine procedure. Also the corporate sectors want some bowlers to remain in the team to get the benifit of their deals. Only god knows what will happen to VARON ARON with the BCCI’s approach. He might have bowled the faster than shoeb then also BCCI will think thousand times for selecting him in the current indian team. BCCI should have several subcenters where they pirodically keep competition for fast bowling. Which at present is very less happening. They will waste this talent. So what everyone feels that BCCI is only interested in making money. Anyway peoples will watch the game since they love it as entertainment.

You are right Mangesh, very good points that you have made. It’s the big IPL Show in India which is the main draw, CLT20 cricket, big business, media & entertainment; politics are all mixed up in the Indian Cricket World. Aaron is a great talent which can get wasted unless BCCI wakes up & puts a stop to Dhoni’s bias and shortsightedness. He still persists with his favorites, Vinay Kumar for one, just a useless bowler, he was a failure in England & did nothing of note at Hyderabad, bowlers of his category rely more on swing and when that’s not happening for them, they are dead when they don’t get that movement, as they have no real pace and bounce!!! Aaron was left out at Hyderabad, Yadav was preferred, even though it was Aaron turn to get the nod. Vinay Kumar was persisted with, with no thought of the future tour of Australia, as to who would spearhead the attack down under. If Dhoni in his infinite wisdom thinks that MF, PK, Vinay, will be his main pace weapons for knocking over Australia then he is indeed living in utopia!!! His favorites are his only concern, as with his madness in bringing in a holidaying RP Singh from Florida to replace Zaheer!!!! And we all know what happened after that? How did Dhoni figure that a dumpy RP could fly in from his holiday and knock England over? Why hasn’t there been a inquiry into the failure in UK? Why did he not ask the selectors to bring in Aaron right away to the UK when Zaheer broke down? A five day test match would have been a wonderful foundation for the young chap to establish himself. But they flew him over to the UK only when all was lost, & then let him be the drinks boy at the ODI’S (insulting to say the least) & never gave him a game, even when the series was lost. MS never gave him a chance in the last match. What bigotry and bias, it’s just shows his arrogance. Now with the win over England in Hyd, all the media & silly fans in India are shouting his praises!!!! What a farce. Now Zaheer is injured, he will surface probably only around the WI tour, to pronounce his fitness, as he must ensure he get the nod for Australia!!!7.5 Lacs per test match plus USD 100 daily allowance will make them all magically fit for Australian tour. Will he last out the whole grueling tour at his age? How is he going to get match fit in exactly 2 months and a week before the 1st test at Melbourne on Dec 26th? Ishant is injured badly & probably will be out for another 6 months. This is when the selectors should induct in all the young hopefuls like Aaron and give them the maximum chance to settle into the team. Instead Dhoni’s benching him still!!! Excuse will be plenty now, spin out England, pitch conditions good for spin, persist with the same lineup, no one is looking at the future. One Kamikaze knock by MSD & he’s everyone’s blue eyed boy again. The trouble in India is the public are gullible and the media easily manipulates minds. The thrashing and disgrace in England has been very conveniently pushed out of the public eye now, & its’ now all about a revenge series! What a load of rubbish!!!
